Carmelo S. Flores (a.k.a. Platino) was born in Mexico on April of 1969 where he grew up until the age of eight. In 1977 his parents brought him to America in search of a better life in the city of Anaheim California.
They came to America with a dream in mind, to find opportunity and that’s exactly what Carmelo found through hard work and many struggles at an early age.
Carmelo has always been an entrepreneur, even in his childhood. “As a young boy, I dared to take paths that my school mates did not. While they would play after school or break dance on the weekends, I was busy starting and running my own little businesses. I sold Avon door to door along with other products. I also had several paper routes with the Orange County Register, a bike repair business and of course my own little landscaping business in the apartment complex where we lived. I got picked on and made fun of quite a bit by the other children. But I was okay with it and of course having the nicest bike and being the richest kid in the neighborhood made it all worthwhile.”
After graduating from high school, Carmelo pursued a college education and three years later became aware of college graduates with degrees that felt under paid or were unable to find work. All of a sudden the idea of getting an MBA and working for someone else did not make sense anymore. It was at this point in Carmelo’s life that he remembered that as a young boy he had always owned a business. However, starting a business in the grown up world was not as easy as anticipated. “After working for 4 years as a Travel Agent I was always broke and unable to start my own Travel Agency Business as planned!”
Given the emphasis Carmelo had placed on personal development at an early age, by reading self help books, listening to motivational tapes, watching many inspiring videos and attending numerous seminars, Carmelo was able to quickly climb the ladder of success in real estate sales with RE/MAX after achieving the ‘top ten’ status for sales with the board of realtors in the Inland Empire.
Due to the fact that Carmelo was earning a great income but had no time to enjoy it is what inspired him to take a serious look at the amazing opportunity that LegalShield presented. “The entire time that I was in real estate sales I felt it nearly impossible to take a weekend off, not to mention a whole week off, because I felt that my existing escrows would fall apart in my absence. I have always believed like J. Paul Getty, that one percent of many people’s effort is called leverage and much better than earning one hundred percent out of your own efforts. Thanks to an amazing team and company, almost 20 years later Carmelo is a Platinum Executive Director, Ring Earner, Legends Panel Member, Platinum Jacket Earner and Charter Millionaire Club Member with LegalShield which has afforded him the opportunity to take his family on trips all over the world. “I have been blessed with the financial and time freedom to have visited the 7 continents and over 150 nations and have now been inducted into the Travelers Century Club. I have also extensively toured in my Motor home throughout both coasts of Canada south to Mexico City and all 48 continental States of the U.S. in between. I feel very blessed and I pray, God bless America”
Carmelo has also put tens of thousands of miles on his Harley Davidson, rides horses, flies Cessnas, sky dives, loves boating and has scuba dived all over the planet. When asked what’s next – Carmelo said with a smile “Platinum 7, to earn the Million dollars a year income Ring, and to visit the rest of the world of course…”
